Dabei wird vieles klar.
The causative nuance in German is usually introduced with "dabei wird".
She makes me sick. = Dabei wird mir uebel.
That doesn't tell me anything. = Dabei wird mir nichts klar.
That joke nearly killed me. = Bei dem Witz bin ich fast gestorben.
