Thank you for~/ Sorry for~
What's the most natural way to say thank you/ sorry FOR something in Korean? In English, as an example of what could be said:
Thank you FOR the flowers.
Thank you FOR applying for the course.
[I'm] sorry FOR my mistakes.
[I'm] sorry FOR your loss.
I was just wondering if anyone has better ways to express this kind of thing? Is it a matter of a specific particle usage?
Thank you in advance! <- And how to say something like this? Haha many thanks.

When you want to express "thank" or "sorry" for something, you have to notify that Korean language is not changeable word-to-word.
thank for the flower.
= 꽃을 선물해줘서 고마워.
In this case of "for the flower", there is no verb or verb variation, so you have to guess the proper and suitable verb, as above example of "present"
But don't worry too serious.
basically "thank you for sth", or "sorry for sth", is "~해서 고마워","~해서 미안해"
p.s) Thank you in advance = 미리 고맙다는 말을 남깁니다. = 미리 고마워 (awkward, but understandable)
(actually in korean language, there is no exactly correspondant expression)

I'd say "미리 감사드립니다."(polite) for "Thank you in advance."
Thank you for explaining [that] to me.
(저에게 or 제게) 설명해 주셔서 감사합니다. (polite)
(나에게 or 내게 or 나한테) 설명해 줘서 고마워. (informal)
* to + person : person"에게"
