I think "allow" is fine. I prefer it, in fact.
It's certainly more formal, but I don't see why Craig chose to change that word. I think it's just as gramatically correct.

The word you are trying to use is "faculty" and not "facility". Other than that, Craig's version is the simplest and most straight forward.

Since everyone else has already suggested improvements to your sentence, I'll just suggest an alternative for purposes of comparison: "This position will allow me to exercise to the fullest extent my skills in foreign languages."

I am not sure what you mean by "postion". It hasn't been previously defined.
"facilities" I don't think is the right word. I think "skills" is more appropriate.
You may "utilize a website's facilities".
Therefore my correction :-
Ideally this website puts me in a position, which will allow me the opportunity to utilize my foreign language skills.
