whats the verb for "close/shut down" in the context of a business or a shop
i want to say in a natural arabic way "my business closed down as sales went down and we ran out of money"

it's not easy, and sometimes it's impossible to translate world by world from English to Arabic and vice versa, or from/to any language, so the same meaning of your clause, in the same context is:
بانخفاض نسبة المبيعات، أوقفت تجارتي، ونفدت مني كل الأموال.
أو
أوقفت تجارتي، ونفدت مني كل الأموال، بسبب انخفاض نسبة المبيعات.
closed down means: الغلق النهائي
لكن في اللغة العربية لا يمكن القول أن التجارة أغلقت، ولكن بالأحرى نقول أوقفت
و الجملة الأصح هي:
خسرت تجارتي، ونفدت مني كل الأموال، بسبب انخفاض نسبة المبيعات

Open = مفتوح
