What is the difference between verbs "to convince' and ' to persuade'

To convince means to get somebody to agree with what you are saying. This is more about thought.
To persuade means to get somebody to do something you are suggesting. This is more about performing an action.
I convinced him that the world was not flat.
I persuaded her to have dinner with me.

To convince is to do something to prove something to someone. Make someone believe.
To persuade is to do something to get someone to do something.
