you have made a similar mistake just like "shuiguo" 中国 is a proper noun and can not be seperated only some of the words can be explained seperately "中" has many meanings,and is only a bound morpheme in China,it has to bound with other morphemes to form a word

no 中国doesn't means middle countty,instead it means people republic of china.中国is the short of 中华人民共和国
