'තේරි' කියනවා රහත් ඵලය ලැබු භික්ෂුණීන්වහන්සේලාට.
ඒත් ඒ වචනේදි මහප්ප්රාන 'ත'යන්නයි යොදාගන්නෙ.'ථේරි'
'තේරී පත් උනා' කියන්නෙ ඉ0ග්රීසි බසින් selected කියන අර්ථයෙන්.
උදාහරණයක් ලෙස : ඡන්දය විමසීමෙන් පසු ඔහු එම තනතුරට තෙරීපත්විය.
සි0හල භාෂාව හැදෑරීම ගැන ගොඩාක් සතුටුයි.
