Is Latin still taught in schools in Italy ?
I read this on wiki "Latin is taught as a mandatory subject in gymnasia and other so-called classical high schools, located chiefly in Europe. Latin grammar has been taught in most Italian schools since the 18th century: for example, in the Liceo classico and Liceo scientifico, Latin is still one of the primary subjects. "
I wonder do schools in Italy still teach Latin today ? If yes, on what scale ?

Hello Xiaolei:
I do not have specific data on an Italian school that teaches Latin; but I think it safe to say that some schools in Italy do teach Latin, because Latin is studied in the United States.
One of the reasons is that Latin Roots, Prefixes and Suffixes form about 60 to 70 percent of all English words. The other 20 per cent of English words are made up of Greek Roots etc.
All other languages account for the remaining 10 percent or so of English words.
On Amazon.com, I have bought several books on Classical Latin, and CD's and DVD's also for practicing Latin. In addition, there are websites offering instruction in Latin.
Finally you can buy books which show important Latin Roots, Prefixes & Suffixes.
I am teaching this to my grandchildren in my Homeschooling.
Good Question! Warm Regards, Bruce
