我觉得这个问题还是中国人解释会更明白点。
Being the way"that you are" is enough 这里that you are是个同位语用来修饰前面那部分，而且不能省略否则句意会不完整，和定语从句的区别也在这里。
The girl( who is wearing pink dress) is beautiful 括号中的部分就是定语，它可以省掉而且省掉后不会影响整句话的意思。
