It's ASSALAMU-ALIKUM, which means 'peace be upon you'.
'Salam Walaikum' is a wrong way of saying and even ludicrous. Coz, by Salam Walaikum you're cursing yourself. That ain't good!
Pronunce the Islamic greetings thoroughly or you're putting yourself in Trouble.
Salam Walaikum ( wrong pronunciation).
ASSALAMU-ALIKUM ( correct pronunciation).
