Are there any differences between "capability" and "ability"?

Overall, both words (ability and capability) are synonyms, but
1. Capability tends to be used to describe a group or company, while ability tends to be used to describe an individual. For example, a company may state something like "We have the capability to inspire," while an individual might say "I have the ability to inspire."
