I guess you mean 'cause. The ' replaces BE. It's just a contraction.
cause without ' has other meanings (basically a noun like "reason" or a verb meaning "to make something happen")

As indicated above, cause is a colloquial contraction of because and should never be used in formal settings.
The word 'cause' has a completely different meaning to 'because'.
