How to express the feeling of pity
The situation is that I invite some to do something, the time isn't good for him, then he cannot come.He said: I have a meeting ,I am not sure to come today.Sorry.
How can I send him a message to show it is a pity,but it doesn't matter,maybe next time?

You could say something like "I'm sorry to hear that what a shame,, I hope your meeting goes well. It's no bother though, we can always meet up later."
