I saw the movie saying: Turns out I was looking in the wrong direction. How do you use " turn out" in daily life ? Thank you.

In this case, "to turn out" is like "to find out (something)", or to realise a reason for something. It could also be used to talk about the outcome of something.
"It turned out that she didn't go to the party"
"It turns out I was wrong."
It could also be used to talk about the outcome of something.
"It might turn out ok."
"How did your recipe turn out?"
