What do you call somebody who's really into food in English?
吃货 is a catch phrase in Chinese which means somebody who really likes to eat food and who has his or her own way to appreciate food. For example, a 吃货 would try every kind of new food when he/she travels ,and knows how to make certain food delicious, like a hot chocolate will be more tasty if you put some salt.(though I've never tried it:)) I wonder if there's a fixed word in English for 吃货?

The more formal, traditional word I think is "gourmand." Recently however the word "foodie" has been used a lot, particularly with a lot of people starting food blogs and a lot of TV cooking shows inspiring people to get interested in food.

The word "foodie" is very commonly used for such a person.
You might also use "food lover" or possibly "gourmet". "Gourmet" is borrowed from the French and usually refers to a person who enjoys fine dining.
