"I was more turned on by this gravy boat than by Barry"??? I understand the meaning of the sentence above, but it's weird. If "turned on" is a verb, "more turned on" doesn't sound right to me; if turned-on is an adjective, "by somebody" doesn't sound reasonable. Would you explain this? Thank you very very much!

turned on is an idiom for "sexually aroused" so I it does make sense : "I was more SEXUALLY AROUSED by this gravy boat than by Barry" - implies that Barry was not very attractive or desirable...
