"from" meaning "because of" Hello, I have just read the next sentence in an article: "Armstrong lost weight from the cancer". For me, it could be raplaced with "Armstrong lost weight because of the cancer". Is there an specific use of "from" with this meaning?

'From' can mean 'as a result of'. For example, 'He got fat from eating too much chocolate'.
