To go to meet somebody? How can I say 迎えに行く in English? The situation is when somebody is in a bar and drunk too much as impossible as return to someone's home alone, then bar's staff call me and ask me to bring someone to someone's home. I have to leave my home to go to the bar and pick someone up, then leave someone at someone's house and I return my home alone. How can I say to my family(housemate) just when I leave home? My dictionary says 'to go to meet somebody', but I am wondering if there are other ways to say in that situation.

I agree. 'Meet' would be inappropriate. 'Meet' suggests some kind of social exchange, for example when you meet someone arriving at the airport and welcome them with some polite and friendly words. 'Pick up' is the best word here. You 'pick up' your friend, and then 'drop them off' at home - just like a parcel!

I don't read Japanese but from the context of what you are saying I would say 'I'm going to pick my friend up', which is how you described it anyway. It would be better than 'to meet' because 'to meet' suggests you are meeting each other, which doesn't sound right if they are very drunk.
