Teddy bears If the toy is not a bear, but a dog or a giraffe... how is it called? Can I say: "She's got a lot of cuddly toys"? Thanks

Cuddly toy is fine and we also call them "stuffed animals."

I think this explanation from Wikipedia would help you most: "A stuffed toy is a toy sewn from a textile, and stuffed with a soft material. In North American English they are variously referred to as plush toys, plushies, or stuffed animals while in British English they are soft toys or cuddly toys." I personally do not like the term "stuffed animals" because of its rather brutal connotations. You should learn this word, taxidermy, which is the craft of preparing, stuffing, and mounting the skins of animals (especially vertebrates) for display (e.g., as hunting trophies) or for other sources of study.

'stuffed animals' is the most common expression, but if you want to find them on the Internet, 'plush toy' is often used. 'cuddly toys' works just fine, and English speakers would understand it.
