Companies may "transfer" employees from one department, office or branch to another. "Transition" is not a synonym for this. "Transition" is a noun meaning the process of change. e.g. "The company is going through a period of transition as it changes its business focus from selling tomatoes to selling mobile phones" You can talk of "transitional arrangements" which are temporary measures in place during a period of big change in an organisation. These arrangements can also affect employees.
