If you are asking about the structure, it's a passive construction in the present perfect tense. In the active voice, the sentence would be: 1A: 'People have yelled at them or called them names while they were playing sports.' It's better to say this in the passive form because 'they' (the sports players) are the more important focus of the information. It's also neater and shorter: 1B: "They have been yelled at or called names while playing sports" Another way of saying the same thing in the active voice is this: 2A: "People shouted at them and insulted them while they were playing sports." Here's a little exercise for you. Complete the sentence in the passive voice so that it means the same as sentence 2A. 2B: They ......................................................while they were playing sports.

Another verb for this type of harrassment is "to heckle," as in "They were heckled while playing sports." Or "The opposing team's fans heckled the players from [___]." Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I think both sentences capture the meaning you are looking for. Good luck!
