What does it mean "I'll take friends" in this context? Richie: Despite you being a...Pinche puto hijo de su madre (I have no idea what that Spanish means but it's definitely something bad because Patrick apologized to Richie.) I would be very sad if you weren't in my life anymore. Patrick: Me too. So does that mean we're friends? Richie: We'll try to be. Patrick: I'll take friends. What does it mean "I'll take friends"? It's same as "take me as your friend"? I don't know what it really means... Could you help me understand this line, I'd really appreciate it :)

"I'll take ____" is the phrase we use when we choose one of the options before us. Patrick is basically saying "Between the options of not being in your life and being friends, I'll choose being friends."

Take this seat. Take away. Take this friend. Take this one is yours if you like. Just a meaning of a word, that is not thing special at all. If you don't like this friend, just discard and don't take this. Do you understand this line well now? But I take this one, means I don't discard until to be abandoned by others; otherwise, I don't take at all means I don't admit. Don't take, don't buy, don't like, don't want, don't use, don't involve, don't interfere and don't affect but you may keep in mind without proof is your choice to take as your own or not in legal respect.
