Did I happen to sound rude by saying this?
It just occured to me that I probably made an offensive remarks to some one who left a comment to my question here on iTalki. That person gave me a link that could possibly answer my question but it didn't deal with what I wanted to know. So I said in my reply to the person,"I wish it(the website on link) would cover my further question." Does this sound rude by any chance? I am wondering if I should have said like 'it's a shame that it didn't cover my further question.' or 'I am sorry that it didn't cover my further question.' Or if there's a better way to say, please let me know. I would appreciate it.
I wouldn't worry. The phrase with 'It's a shame' would be better, but the comment you wrote doesn't seem offensive.

To avoid sounding rude, say thank you in situations like this, then there's a smaller risk of offending someone! Maybe like " Thank you for your help, but unfortunately this wasn't the answer I was looking for"

You shouldn't worry about this.I m sure the person won't be offended by your answer. But to be more polite you can use something like "Thank you so much for your help but this website does not have what i am looking for."
