Learnig vocabulary using "Taboo"/"Tabu" cards #1
I was told that the word cards would increase my vocabulary, but the link between the words sometimes needs explanation, please help:
Rulo - Roll - ok
Silindir - Cylinder - ok
Boya - Paint - ok (roller)
Yuvarlak - round - ok
Şekil - Figure - ????
Tuvalet Kağıdı - Toilet papaer - ok

I can't see the link from 'figure' to 'roll'.

Hi Den.Words may be more than one meaning in Turkish.

Şekil = shape ,,, example : square, triangle and cylinder is a shape,

"Şekil" means "shape" here. I think "şekil" is among the taboo words because the shape of "toilet paper" can be linked to "round" as well.  
For example, one can describe it by telling "It is round." ("Şekli yuvarlak.")

i'm not sure but;
"Şekil" ==> from Arabic Langauge. For this reason unfartunately yo cant link any English word.
And "Şekil" is have very different mean in our language. Look like your's "Get" ;) Maybe dont full response but "Figür" is nearly ok to Figure.
You can use Figure to "Figür" , not full response, but everybody understand you.
