Dose "situation"and occassion"have any diffirenc

A "situation" means a general circumstance (it is more common to use this word), for example "It was a difficult situation." However, "occasion" is a very particular circumstance, for example "It was a special occasion. It was her birthday." Hope that helps - Finn
