Verb prefer
I´m having trouble making this phrase;
Sometimes, I prefer being alone to being with people
It doesn´t sound right to me, is it correct?

Yes. It's perfect.

I prefer being alone than being with people.
That might be better since you are trying to compare two situations, and usually A than B form is used.
