I'm thinking about living in Edinburgh. I've never been there, but a friend of mine told me that the city itself is beautiful, but there aren't many work opportunities (even as dishwasher, waitress and so on...).

Yes, Edinburgh is real, it exists. Sorry, small joke there, as your question should be 'is it true?' Asking 'Is it real?' means 'does Edinburgh exist?' (With the alternative being that it is imaginary.)

Edinburgh is a beautiful city, that is true and I really liked it when I visited it. It's a long way from where I live though so I don't know any specific details about the difficulties of finding work there. Hopefully you will get some responses to help you.
