Is it the same to say 'I'm quite tall'' as ''I'm pretty tall'' ?

Yes you can certainly say I am quite tall. The 'quite' here is a qualifier, so you would say this in response to someone saying something like ' you're tall, aren't you?", or, 'are you tall"? "tall' of course is relative, so there could be others who are taller than you. By saying 'quite tall' you are indicating that while not the tallest person you would likely be considered 'tall' by many people. You could also say, I am quite tall for a woman, meaning compared to most women. "Pretty tall' means much the same -'fairly tall' would be another way of putting it. While you can also say, as suggested above, that you are 'very tall' this is perhaps a little stronger than 'quite' or pretty. Too tall means something else entirely - 'too tall' means in excess of the height considered desirable or appropriate. He is too tall to play an old man. He is too tall to fit through the door.
