I would agree with some of the above answers, but more as a literal translation. In practice, one is more likely to say either "in short" or "in other words" as a closer approximate meaning to the Chinese "總而言之". To re-phrase Bella's example.
"He is friendly, kind, and warmhearted. In short, he is a good guy.
