It's a bit of a vague question, what do we think in terms of what? Attitude, apparence etc?

Depende de la situación.  
It depends on the situation. Customer service always includes:
Courtesy towards the customer
Listening to the customer´s concern about a product (problem, wishes, etc)
Friendly attitude
Knowledge of the product you are selling

Of course, there are many more, but this might be a beginning. Oh, and ¨keep smiling¨
