Your sentence is ungrammatical. "u" might be acceptable in a text message but not in a sentence.

"Taking the good with the bad" means accepting the pleasant and unpleasant aspects of something; In this case, the good and the bad aspects of having to raise a child i.e. upbringing being difficult at times and fun at other times.
