Moves vs Movements
Hi guys, I have a doubt... Some guys told me to play chess(online, it was a chatroom) but I said "I know what every piece does, but I don't know any strategy or movements" They said it was wrong that it can't be "movements"... what are the differences between move and movement? and not only in this game (chess) but in general.

Move is a verb but movement is a noun.

I'll answer this referring to your question in general. There are a few definitions.
A move can be used in a colloquial term such as a choice someone is going to make. This is how it's used in chess. You're not actually moving, you're making the piece move, which is a choice you're making. In the physical sense you can't really use move in the sense of a noun very well.
A movement can be a type of body movement such as a hand movement, or it could be someone's routine going from one place to another. Monitoring someone's movements could be observing their physical behavior or routine.
Hope that helps.
