понятно vs понимаю vs видно?
I know this question already exists, but I read it many times and the answers don't help me at all. The end result of the answers, to me, is that I can use понятно, понимаю, and видно interchangeably.

The answers say that one means "It is clear," and "I get it." While the other means "I understand". They mean the same thing to me. If something is clear to me, I understand it. If it is unclear, I don't understand.

just to add about 'видно'.
my grandma always says 'а там видно будет' (we'll see) meaning 'we can't say right now what  the outcome of the situation will be so let's just wait and see'
my peers never use this word, though :)

Hi, Marcel. You can't literally say "I SEE" in Russian. Nobody says ВИДНО in that context. Видно is either an assumption (like, "I guess, Cathy's not gonna show up until tomorrow" - "Видно, до завтра Кэти не появится"), or it indicates the visibility of something (like "I can't see anything (outside) but the Mist" - "Мне ничего не видно (снаружи) кроме тумана").
"I see" means "Я понимаю." or simply "Понимаю." or "Ясно." or "Понятно." It all means the same thing, indicating that the person in question (the one that says it) understands the situation (gets it).

Instead "Видно" you can say "Ясно". "Ясно" = "it is clear". We often use this word.
"Видно" not too suitable for this situation.

"понятно" is an adverb
"понимаю" is a verb

"Понятно" is a short conversational way to say "Это мне понятно".
"Понимаю" is a short conversational way to say "Я это понимаю".

If used like this, both have identical meaning. The only difference is what part of speech is used. That's why you've been given two different translation into English that also uses different parts of speech but have the same meaning - "It's clear (adverb) to me", "I understand (verb)".

As for "видно", it's hard to say about its meaning without the context. It could be "I can see something (with my eyes)", or maybe "It seems like...".
