which is correct, or better?

Beide Sätze sind richtig.

"Können Sie uns das kurz erklären?" so ist es Richtig.

Either will do, however "Koennen Sie es uns kurz erklaeren?" would be perfect.
Why? Because most people talk that way. That's what languages are all about in the end.

"Es liegt an dir" is the correct one.
Why? Es ist einfach so! Accept and memorize it.
