No, I could answer to your question, but I prefer to give you
some hints so that you can find the answer by yourself.
1. /ero, eri, era, eravamo, eravate, erano/, as you (I presume) know
is nothing more than a tense (imperfetto) of /essere/.
2. I imagine that you know how to use /sono, sei, e`, siamo, siete, sono/,
i.e. the present (indicativo) tense of /essere/.
3a. shift your suspicious sentence to the /indicativo presente/,
3b. find the answer or apply corrections.
3c. shift back to /indicativo imperfetto/.
