what's the difference between exceed and surpass? in there anybody can answer me? thank you very much!

They are similar , as Chris says. Surpass is used only in a positive sense. You surpass a goal. Exceed can be used in both positive and negative situations. He exceeded the speed limit. (Negative) He exceed his goal. ( positive)

They are very similar and can be synonymous. Exceed can be used in sentences detailing a number or figure (e.g. "He exceeded the speed limit by 15 m.p.h." or "Her careless spending exceeded her monthly budget.") It sounds awkward to use "surpass" instead of "exceed" in these sentences, though perhaps it isn't necessarily incorrect. I hope this helps.
