I will x I'll
Hi, everyone!
I have two questions related to the same topic.
1) How would you pronounce this sentence while saying it naturally? Try to imagine that you're talking to a relative or to a friend for example.
I'll go to my uncle's tomorrow.
The complicated part to me is the "I'll" one... how would you pronounce it, /aɪl/ OR /ɑl/?
Or would you pronounce it another way? I thought only the second one was possible... but I came across the second one today (on Wiktionary).
2) If you have a text in which it's written the sentence: "I'll do it because...", how would you read it?
"I will do it..." OR /aɪl/ OR /ɑl/ ?
I hope you understand my question. The first one is about how you would say it naturally (just think of how you would say it in daily life). Whereas in the second one, I wanted to know how you would read it.
Thanks!

Ola Vítor :)
Different people pronounce "I'll" differently (as /aɪl/ /ɑl/ or even /æl/ ), so you will be understood no matter how you choose to pronounce it. I think the original pronunication of "I'll" is /aɪl/ because it is the shortened version of "I will", and in that phrase we pronounce the "I" like /aɪ/ so it would make sense that when we shortened "I will" into "I'll" that the "I" sounds the same in both. I think over time, people got lazy and stopped saying /aɪl/, and now it is more common to say /ɑl/ or /æl/, because it is not a diphthong. (I personally pronounce "I'll" as /ɑl/)
And for your 2nd question, even though "I'll" is an abbreviated version, you would never read it as "I will".
Boa sorte!

I pronounce I'll the same way that I read it: I'll (rhymes with style, dial, file; I say it as "ile" in file)
