I have seen several South American Spanish speakers use the phrase "jajajaja"-
Is the same as saying "hahaha" in English ?
If so is it also used by European Spanish speakers ?

tu pregunta es curiosa porque ya me di cuenta que cada vez que digo "jajajajaja", usualmente las personas no hispanohablante me preguntan que que significa; igual nosotros en un comienzo no entenderiamos el "hahahaha"; lo que sucede alli es que la /h/ y la /j/ aunque son diferentes morfemas tienen la misma equivalencia fonologica del ingles al español.
En otras palabras son letras diferentes pero que se pronuncian igual (en algunos casos) en el ingles y el español, entonces "jajajajaja" se pronuncia igual que "hahahaha" solo se diferencian en su escritura ;-)

Letter "j"(jota) sounds as kh, jajaja-hahaha
This doesn't change it is used by both spaniards and latin americans.

Yes means the same

Yeah, here in spanish we use too "jajaja"

jajaja, jejeje. Most people use it just 3 times. But some time we like to make clear that something was hilarious! jajajajajajajajajaja!
