Can you explain how to say 20대, '89년, etc... So I was reading a webtoon and I became curious on how to say certain this with numbers. 20대? --> 20(이십)대 or is 20(수물)대 right? '89년? ---> '89(팔십구)년 or do you say 1989(일천팔십구)? My friend said 응답하라 1997 is said as 구구칠. Why isn't it said as 일천구백구십칠? Do you leave out 천, 백 and 십 every time you say the year? 2016 ---> 이천십욕 ^^Like this is right, you'll always say this but...: 1789 ---> is it 일천칠백팔십구 or 칠팔구? 1967 ---> can you just say 구욕칠? Does this only work for the 1900s? Sorry for all these questions! XD

20대? --> 이십대 '89년? ---> 팔십구년 Why don't you ask to your friend saying 응답하라 1997 as 구구칠? You must be missed the 일 응답하라 1997 => 응답하라 천구백구십칠 or 응답하라 일구구칠 Usually, 일 is omitted before 만,천,백,십. 2016 ---> 이천십육 1789 ---> 천칠백팔십구 or 일칠팔구 1967 ---> 천구백육십칠 or 일구육칠
