Accent from Ireland and Canada
Hello everyone!
I would like to do an exchange program and I have been looking for some places which offer it. But I have no idea which country I should go. I will stay abroad around 4 months and of course I need to choose the best place (cheaper and the accent needs to be not so difficult).
My options are:
Ireland - Dublin
Canada - Vancouver/Toronto/Winnipeg.
I have been studying American English at school and I try to watch videos on Youtube with United Kingdom accent because the British accent is not so commom in classes.
Another point is: I have listened that the accent from Ireland is quite difficult and it is necessary to stay there more time, I mean, it should be necessary to be there at least one year.
Could anyone help me with this doubt?
Which one should be the best?
Thanks a lot!

There is no 'best' one. If you've never lived in an English speaking country you'll be bewildered no matter where you go, in my opinion.
I believe that there is too much emphasis placed on this whole matter of accents by English learners.
My advice is to pick a place that you think you'll enjoy and absorb the experience.
In the end, the fact is that you'll always have a Brazilian accent. It doesn't matter. Effective communication is what matters.
Good luck to you.

Dublin isn't a hard accent, compared to say Belfast, and you will attune pretty quickly.
However if you're already learning American English, you may find Canadian closer.
Please note: Dublin (Eire) isn't British. There was a war and everything ;)

I think you should choose based on where you want to go in regards to costs, housing, quality of classes, etc. However, if you want an opinion on accent, then I would recommend going to Canada. Since you have already been studying American English, it will be easier to adapt to the Canadian accent then to the Irish accent.
