我也经常遇到这种问题，我的建议是:尽量的不用视频，用语音效果要好的多。还有就是当电脑上的速度太慢时，我会换成手机用"skype"，当你用手机的时候，视频和音频效果都很好。

It depends,要看的.
跟你的Internet Provider很有关系哟,
中国的话上外网用中国移动和中国电信还比较好.
跟城市也有关,比如你在大城市的话会好点,比如上海/北京/广州.
如果你在小城市的话,那么没什么好的解决办法.

I know Skype is popular in US and Europe, but normally people in China use WeChat.
If you are teaching a Chinese student, I guess he/she must have an account on WeChat.
So why not try that?
