hi guys, i'm trying to improve my English by watching many hollywood films but how can I understand what they say if i dont know the vocabulary. what should i do?
(i asked my friend how can she speaks English very good and studying in Oxford, she says read book and watch a lot. how can i understand what they say if i dont know the vocab?)

Hi Widia! If you are struggling with vocabulary, I recommend two apps to help you: Memrize and Duolingo. Memrize is great if you only want to build vocabulary and learn basic expressions. Duolingo is great if you want to reach a more intermediate level in the language (in addition to building vocabulary).

Find material which has a transcript.  Watch short clips e.g. 5 minutes, which you can understand about 50% of the first time.  Listen many times and transcribe as much as you can.  Then check the transcript and listen again for the words you couldn't understand.  Read the correct transcript out loud.

Firstly you have to start study. Everyday a few words and try to remember it. When you will watch tv you'll see this words and remember easier. By just watching it's quite difficult. On the beginning try to watch with English subtitles. Good luck !
