Who do you usually spend Christmas Day with and what traditions do you follow?
Your answer will depend on your religion.
Each year it is different for my family. Traditionally it is hot, but now the weather has become changeable in Australia. Sometimes I travel interstate to be with my parents but now my children live nearby, so we spend Christmas Day together. We go to church in the morning, then at lunch time we exchange presents. Everyone brings their speciality, eg potato salad, cold vegetable salad, tabouli etc while I roast the turkey or the men barbeque different marinated meat outside, along with seafood.Depending on the day, we usually have a typical Australian dessert called a pavlova. It is a big cake sized meringue with a soft centre. It is made from sugar and beaten eggwhites. On the top we put whipped cream, fresh berries, kiwi fruit etc. At tea time we eat the left over meats/fish with more salads with other friends who drop in.
