I would like to know what's the difference between

"Nasaan si Cherry?"

and

"Nasaan ni Cherry?"

I recall having seen and heard both, but can't find any explanations for this usage of "ni".

"Nasaan si Cherry" = "Where is Cherry"
"Nasaan ni Cherry" = "Where of Cherry"

"ni" is a word used to connect clauses or sentences

for example:
"Nasaan ang bahay ni Cherry?" = "Where is the house of Cherry?"

The answers given are correct.  However, if you only heard "Nasaan ni Cherry?", maybe what was actually said was "Nasaan NA, Cherry?" = Where is it now, Cherry?.  It's highly possible that "nasaan NI" and "nasaan NA" can sound almost the same to the untrained ear.

Hi! I'm actually curious where you've seen "Nasaan ni Cherry" because as is it doesn't make sense to me as a native speaker. What makes sense though is "Nasaan ang x ni Cherry" which means "Where is Cherry's x."
