Is there a French word for the English "sleepyhead" ?
Cambridge defines the word "sleepyhead" as, "a person, esp. a child, who is tired and looks ready to sleep".
Merriam-Webster defines "sleepyhead" as, "a sleepy person".
Is there a French word for this? Thank you.

Hi Jared,
In French, in that case, we would use the expression "marmotte" (like the animal) when that said "sleepyhead" is having difficulties when trying to wake up in the morning.
At other times during the day, we would use another expression such as "dormir debout" or "dormir éveillé".
Hope it helps!

Hello.
We could qualify someone as a "dormeur" from "dormir" (like "to work/worker", "to travel/traveler"...). In that case "un dormeur (male) / une dormeuse (female)" would be the translation of "a sleeper".

Hello Jared,
There is no word to literally translate "sleepyhead".
For exemple, "Come on, sleepyhead, it's time for bed" could be translated like this : "Allez, va au lit, tu dors debout !".
