Packing can be a 名词，进行时动词，动名词，形容词！ 'He used newspapers as packing' 'I'm packing my things, see you soon!' 'I don't like packing.' 'Where did you get those packing materials from?' :-)

Package is a noun. So say you have a parcel you are sending to someone you could say - this is a package. I have sent the package. Packing is a verb. So you use this when you are packing a box / suitcase. Hope that helps!
