Help me explain friend
Turn somebody on, turn somebody down.
What is the meaning of these two phrases, hope you can write a couple of examples using them respectively for me to understand it better.

They don't really work.
Turn something down means to (1) Refuse it, or (2) Reduce it (Like volume on the TV)
Turn something on means to make it operate, such as your phone or TV
Turn someone on has a veryyyyyyy different meaning.

Do you mean 'someTHING' or 'someONE'? Because the meaning is different in each case. "Turn someDAY on/down" doesn't make sense.
EDIT: Since you mean 'someONE':
"turn me on" means to excite or arouse. Originally it was more related to drug use, so old songs will use it to mean 'excite' or 'inspire', or as a reference to drugs. But now it is almost always about sexual arousal.
"That dress you are wearing turns me on!"

"turn me down" means to reject:
"I asked her on a date but she turned me down."

I think it's supposed to be 'something'. Turn something on. Turn something down.
