Help with question(please)
Hi, there
Could you help me with a few questions, please?
1) If your son is trying to convince you not to stay home the next day and you say(in a joking way):
"You are really clever/slick/sneaky, aren't you? You only want me to go ou tomorrow so you can laze around home all day". Even in that way you are like your father"... Does it sound odd? I mean, using "slick/sneaky" that way? What about saying "Even in that way you are like your father"?
2) Does it sound odd to say these sentences with "have"?
"I don't want to try to be slick/clever/sneaky, cut corners on hotel arrangements for our trip and then get burned and have our trip become a source of stress."
Please, does it sound odd to say "have our trip become a source of stress"? What about "try to be slick/clever" ? And "get burned" and "hotel arrangements"?
Please, help me
Thank you!

For 1) 'sneaky' sounds best. "Even in that way you are like your father" isn't wrong, but I think it'd be more natural to say "you're so like your father" or "just like your father" instead. If this is for a dialogue, I'd write "you're" instead of "you are" too.
For 2) I would use clever. "Have our trip become a source of stress" sounds too formal for the rest of the sentence, especially after "get burned" which is very colloquial. You could say something like: "I don't want to try to be clever, cut corners on hotel arrangements, and then get burned and end up ruining our trip."
