Thank you also for your support If we have foreign guests, we pick them up from the air port and take them back to our home or to their hotel, as we understand what it's like to be jet lagged and in a foreign country. We treat our guests like our friends and family. If they are staying in our home we make sure we know their food preferences, especially if they are religious and don't eat certain products. We do all the cooking and we eat together and sometimes we invite our friends to also join us for a barbeque. If they are staying at the hotel we pick them up and we either go out for meals or they come to our place. Then we show them our city and other tourist sites they would like to see. If they are continuing their travel around Australia, we make sure that they get the best deals and give them phone numbers of people we know in case of an emergency. If they are departing from our city we take them back to the airport and give them a memento.

Here are a few suggestions: Give them a tour of your city. Take them shopping. Go to a restaurant. Go out for a drink/ or offer drinks at your house and just talk. Take them to your city attractions like an amusement park or botanical garden.

@ john: if that's how your culture goes, then so be it... we filipinos always intend to please any foreign guest - because that's our common practice, and we value their choice for visiting our country. why don't you try to visit our country and witness what we really mean.

if an acquaintance, i advice them where they can go and let them entertain themselves why do you even need to please someone that is not even close to you. you mentioned the person is a "guest", not even a friend.. looks to me that you have an inferiority complex to foreigners
