This is a love song or stalker song?
Every breath you take by The Police.
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you
Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you
Oh can't you see
You belong to me
My poor heart aches
With every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
Since you've gone I been lost without a trace
I dream at night I can only see your face
I look around but it's you I can't replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby, please
Especially, I'm interested in the part "I'll be watching you" . How does it sound to you?

I don't think I will ever look at this song in quite the same way again! When I hear the song it is clearly a love song, but if you just read the words, without ever having heard it sung, it could be interpreted as being a stalker's manifesto. A good example of how context is everything.

When it was written, I don't think that the word "stalker" had been coined. He doesn't say that he will be following her, just watching her. As I see it, he wants to emphasise how much he misses her.

It's a stalker song.
In many, many interviews, Sting (the lead singer and the guy who wrote the song) has said that it was a stalker song. It was never intended to be anything other than creepy.
People who hear it as a love song are either not paying attention to the words or have some unusual views on love.

Yes it definitely has creepy overtones - every game you play? Every smile you fake? I’ve come across treatments of this in books on language usage but I can’t remember where.
